The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has stated that he heard that the Osun State government is allegedly shielding some criminal suspects in the Government House.
The IGP stated this on Friday during a meeting with Governor Ademola Adeleke at the government house in Osogbo.
Disu said he had received briefings that Adeleke and some people are not happy about the workings of the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan.
“If I tell you, sir, that I have not had complaints, I have lied, and I will explain everything to you one by one, sir.
“I have heard that you are not happy, and some people are not happy with the Commissioner of Police for this reason and that reason,” the IGP said.
He, however, said the Commissioner of Police also briefed him on how some suspected criminals were being hidden at the government house.
“He, too, has briefed me. He briefed me that some suspects he is looking for are hibernating in the government house. I looked at that. If that is true, why should suspects be in the government house?”
The IGP added that he had told the Commissioner of Police how to go about the situation.
“I have heard that this party and that party are hibernating suspect criminals.”
