VIDEO: Lagos Teacher Who Physically Assaulted 3-Yr-Old Pupil Arrested

Stella Nwadigo, the teacher at Christ-Mitots School, Ikorodu, Lagos State, who was caught in a viral video showing her physically assaulting a three-year-old pupil, Abayomi Micheal has been arrested.

Osun Defender obtained a video showing a police operative at the school addressing the teacher with the statement, “Under the President of Nigeria, the Governor of Lagos State, and my CP, you are under arrest.” The teacher was then escorted out of the school premises.

Osun Defender had earlier reported that the disturbing footage shows the teacher maltreating the innocent child when she asked the child to write some numbers in a book.

This incident has triggered mixed reactions from Nigerians, with many condemning the actions of the teacher and calling for stricter regulations in schools to ensure the safety of children.

Below are some of the reactions:

@Rukee_xo: Because we want student to learn as fast as possible doesn’t mean we should expose them to physical abuse , i couldn’t even watch this video , as someone who advocates for education I find this devastating, why would a child who is at an education facility be exposed to such treatment . There are several means to make a child learn , every child doesn’t have the same learning ability.

@Johnnyharrt: Absolutely disturbing! A 3-year-old child deserves nurturing and care, not physical abuse. Stella Nwadigo’s actions are unacceptable and Christ-Mitots School needs to take immediate action. Protecting our children is everyone’s responsibility!

@TheManAfricano: See the boy not even crying. So used to beatings like this. 😢

@savinha: Cctvs should be in classes and be monitored by the principal

@Alpha_Femalee: God, those slaps are heavy

@TadyJerry: This is not good. Children like this need patience and grace from their teachers. This little boy doesn’t deserve this treatment, he’s too small for this. Teachers should be tested and evaluated before they’re allowed to teach but in Nigeria, any jobless person can become a teacher not necessarily having the quality to become one. The foundation is very important. We have work to do as a people.
