VIDEO: Police PRO Seen Flouting Traffic Rules
Nigerians on social media are expressing outrage after a viral video showed Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, driving without a seatbelt while filming himself behind the wheel.
The circulating video captures the officer in plain clothes, operating a vehicle and recording himself, a move many have described as reckless and unlawful.
A user on X (formerly Twitter), @FavoredSinner, called out the behaviour, writing, “Like I always say, nothing is normal in Nigeria. Here is a Police PRO, Delta State Command, driving with no seat belt, using his phone, recording himself while driving, and posting it online. In a normal country, this would mean suspension, disciplinary action, and traffic penalties. Here, it is business as usual. As you were!”

The video has reignited discussions on double standards in law enforcement, with citizens noting that ordinary Nigerians are often penalised for similar traffic offences, while top officials appear to act with impunity.
The Delta Police Command has not issued a formal response as of the time of filing this report.
