VIDEO: Reps Vote Overwhelmingly In Support Of Tinubu’s Emergency Rule In Rivers
The House of Representatives has voted overwhelmingly in favour of President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
The decision followed a letter from the President, requesting the National Assembly’s approval to impose emergency rule in the South-South state. During Thursday’s plenary session, lawmakers debated the matter before reaching a resolution.
According to the Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, a total of 240 members were present for the session, confirming that a quorum was formed before the vote was taken.
