A video has emerged of some political hoodlums, suspected to be working for the All Progressives Congress, in branded AMBO campaign vehicles, as well as vehicles bearing the insignia of President Bola Tinubu.
In the video, the political thugs were seen brandishing guns as they moved through the Aregbesola/Olaiya area of Osogbo.
OSUN DEFENDER had earlier reported that there was panic in some areas of the state as hoodlums shot sporadically, causing apprehension among residents.
These gun-wielding non-state actors fired sporadically at Owode Ede, Aregbesola, Olaiya, Oke-Fia and Old Garage Area.

During the incident, three people were reportedly injured and are currently receiving treatment at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital and General Hospital, Ede.
Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) said the disturbing development was a deliberate attempt at voter intimidation and a calculated effort to instil fear among the electorate ahead of the forthcoming governorship election. Such acts are capable of discouraging citizens from participating in the democratic process and fostering voter apathy.
The ADC, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Abosede Oluwaseun called on the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Command, to rise above every perception of political bias and immediately ensure a thorough investigation into these incidents.
“The safety of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of the security agencies, and the people of Osun deserve protection regardless of political affiliation.
“The perpetrators of this criminal act must be identified, arrested, and prosecuted in accordance with the law. Osun State must not be allowed to descend into an era of political violence and lawlessness,” the statement added.
