WASSCE Candidate’s Mother, 4 Others Arrested Over Attack On Teacher For Preventing Cheating
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested one Dorcas Asije, mother of a West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) candidate, who allegedly orchestrated an attack on a vice principal for preventing her son from cheating during the ongoing examination.
Mrs Asije was arrested along with four accomplices.
The suspect reportedly hired thugs to assault Mr Rotifa, Vice Principal of Complete Child Development College, located in Aule, Akure North Local Government Area, after he confiscated her son’s mobile phone during an exam.
Confirming the arrests in a statement on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police, under the directive of Commissioner Wilfred Afolabi, led a tactical team to apprehend the suspects swiftly.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and will be charged to court after the investigation is concluded,” Ayanlade stated, urging the public to report suspicious activity.
