Governor Gboyega Oyetola has lauded the military for its efforts at containing insurgency in the country particularly in the North East.
Mr Oyetola gave the commendation when he received the new GOC 2 Division Nigerian Army Ibadan.
He acknowledged the fact that the State enjoys tremendous support from the military and appreciated the effort of 2 Division at all times especially during elections to keep the State secure.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola emphasized that he was bent on keeping the State safe since investors will keep clear of areas with prevalence of crimes.
Mr Oyetola who lauded the police,DSS and paramilitary organisations in keeping Osun safe sought their assistance especially as the Government is concluding plans to flush out criminals masquerading as miners from the State.
Earlier, the new General Officer Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army Ibadan,Major General Bamidele Omozoje said his Division was ready to support civil authorities to ensure prevalence of security.
He thanked the Governor for the audience even at a short notice.
Major General ozoje is the fortieth GOC 2 Division Ibadan.He was the Commander Brigade of Guards at the Presidency. He is a fellow of Defence College Italy,and held several high profile military appointment before his present assignment.
Major General Bamidele Omozoje replaced Major General Fidelis Azinta the 39th General Officer Commanding 2 Division of the Nigerian Army Ibadan.
