We’ve Intensified Security In Osun Boundary Communities – Amotekun

The Osun State Command of the Amotekun Corps has disclosed that it had intensified surveillance at border communities in the state.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinbi who made this known on Thursday, said the move was in response to the alarm raised on Tuesday by Governor Ademola Adeleke that there were plans by criminals to attack schools and farm settlements in the state.

Osun Defender reports that Adeleke had in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated that those behind the plot aimed to disrupt the implementation of his administration’s developmental drive by causing apprehension in the state.

The Governor said he had put the security forces on the alert and would embark on major reforms of the Amotekun.

The Commandant when asked what Osun Amotekun was doing to forestall the alleged plot, said the state-owned security outfit had intensified the patrol of border communities.

Adewinbi added that many measures were being adopted to prevent a breakdown of law and order in Osun State.

He said, “Amotekun is collaborating with the other security agencies. I have been having meetings with the security agencies in the state. We are doing everything possible to make sure it doesn’t happen.

“We are thinking of how to secure our borders, we are thinking of how to intensify intelligence gathering within the state and so many other things. The security agency is on top of everything.”
