Why I Rejected N30m Donation From Kebbi Gov – Pastor Enenche
Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, has explained why he turned down a N30 million donation from Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, during a recent crusade.
Speaking to his congregation on Sunday at the church’s headquarters in Abuja, Enenche said the decision was rooted in his long-standing commitment to keep the ministry free from political or governmental influence.
He stated that the rejection was not personal but consistent with principles he has upheld for over two decades.
“For some people, that may be a surprise because they don’t know who we are. But those who know us, that’s no surprise at all. That’s how we’ve lived, and that’s what we’ve stood for,” he said.
Enenche recalled several instances where he declined financial gifts and honourariums, including a 2014 pilgrimage to Jerusalem with former President Goodluck Jonathan, where he paid his own way and refused reimbursement.
He stressed that accepting money from government sources could compromise his prophetic calling and affect his ability to hold public officeholders accountable.
According to him, maintaining independence is vital for speaking the truth without fear or favour.
The pastor also cited the construction of the Dunamis headquarters as proof of the church’s commitment to self-reliance, noting that the project was completed without any form of government assistance.
“I don’t want to touch any dime of government money,” he said.
