Why Osun People Will Re-elect Me As Gov – Adeleke
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday, said his administration’s performance and servant-leadership style will secure his re-election in the August 15 governorship poll in the state.
The governor stated this while hosting members of the state chapter of the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria at the Government House in Osogbo.
Adeleke noted that his administration’s performance in the areas of the economy, education, sports, health, and agriculture, among others, would guarantee his victory.
He said, “When the opposition asked whether I deserve to be re-elected, I told them yes, based on my performance in the first term in office. As governor, I remain a man of due process.”
“I adhere to procurement regulations in project execution; enforce equitable distribution of infrastructure across the state; and stick to the rule of law in addressing governance issues.
“I have also implemented merit-based pre-election teachers’ recruitment despite financial constraints and ensured the judicious management of state finances through verifiable projects and programmes. Am I not deserving to be re-elected?” he asked.
The governor also said that he would base his re-election campaign on an upgraded five-point agenda.
The governor added that infrastructure consolidation to improve citizens’ social and economic well-being, as well as agro-industrial expansion to advance human development and collective prosperity, would be part of his campaign priorities.
Adeleke further stated that affordable and quality healthcare, improved access to education, and a better secured business environment for job creation would also receive priority attention.
“Today marks the starting point of campaigning for the governorship election. We need your prayers and support for a free and fair election through which the will of the people will prevail,” he said.
Adeleke added that his administration would continue to run an inclusive, forward-looking and world-class system of governance for the people of the state.
“My promise to the people of Osun is that now and when we are re-elected, we will continue to run inclusive, forward-looking and world-class governance for the good of our people.
“We will expand our consultative networks, sustain growth across multiple sectors and pursue sustainable development across sectors through multi-sectoral development strategies,” he said.
