A housewife, Maryam Muhamamd, has taken her husband, Yahaya Garba before a Magistrates Court for allegedly beating her over failure to cook bean flour dumpling (Dan Wake) with pepper.
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Maryam first reported the matter at the state police command where she told the officers that her husband beat and wounded her face after telling him there was no pepper to cook the bean flour dumpling, known as ‘Dan Wake’ he requested.
Graba was arraigned by the police in the court presided over by Hadiza Muhammad Hussaini on a two-count charge bordering on using force and violating human rights.

Counsel to the state government, Barrister Asmau Dalhatu Gwarzo, urged the court to read the charges against the defendant, as it is a new case and the court ordered the prosecutor, Auwal Abdullahi, to read the charges against him.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Defence counsel, however, prayed the court to admit his client on bail.
Garba was granted bail by the court.
