President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said with effective and purposeful leadership, 100 million Nigerians will be lifted out of poverty in the next 10 years.
President Buhari said this at the Eagles Square in Abuja during a ceremony to mark June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day and his inauguration for a second term in office.
He said for the nation to be lifted out of poverty, leaders at all levels and strata of governance in Nigeria must provide good leadership and unparalleled sense of purpose.
Buhari’s statement re-echoes the Slogan of the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential Election in the country, Chief Moshood Olawale Abiola’s campaign which is “Farewell To Poverty”
The statement is part of President Buhari’s inaugural address for his second term in office.
