Withheld Results: Affected OSPOLY Student Commends OSUN DEFENDER After Victory

Students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY), whose results were withheld by the management of the institution over a Student Disciplinary Matter have commended OSUN DEFENDER for its follow-up on the issue, creating awareness and amplifying the voices of the students.

OSUN DEFENDER earlier reported that following a series of outcry and intervention from the public, alumni, students, stakeholders of OSPOLY and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), the management of the institution finally released the results of four students withheld due to an alleged Student Disciplinary Matter on Wednesday.

The Student Disciplinary Matter, which stalledthe results of the four affected students— Ashiwel Samuel Bamise, Oseni Ige Olaitan, Olutekunbi Jacob, and Adebisi Adeyemi Simeon stemmed from allegations by the management of the institution, linking the four students to an unauthorized locking of the school gate on September 10, 2024.

However, following the release of the four students’ results on Wednesday, one of the students, Ashiwel Samuel, in an appreciation statement, commended OSUN DEFENDER for giving the withheld results issue widespread reportage.

Ashiwel said, “To the press and media, especially Osun Defender, thank you for amplifying our voices and ensuring our plight was heard far and wide. Your fearless journalism and commitment to truth made a significant difference.”
