Woman Accused Of N826,135 Theft Arraigned

The Osun State police command on Tuesday, arraigned a 25-year-old woman, Mercy Onoko Okiemute before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing a sum of N826,135 and ATM card valued N1,000 belonging to Adeboye Cecilia Bolanle.

Onoko who is facing three-count charge bothering on conspiracy, felony and stealing pleaded not guilty to the offence preferred against her.

The charge sheet read in the court disclosed that the suspect and others at large  committed the offence between 11th and 13th day of November, 2017 at  FCMB in Osogbo.

It further stated that the defendant stole an ATM card and the whooping sum of N826,135 belonging to Adeboye Cecilia Bolanle, the complainant.

It affirmed that the offence contravened section 516, 383 (1) punishable under section 390 (9) of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11.laws of Osun State 2002.

The counsel to the accused person, Mr.  Owoeye Oyinkansola applied for the bail of the defendant in the most liberal and affordable terms.

The Police prosecutor, Insp. Oladoye Joshua did not oppose the application.

The magistrate, Mr Tunde Badmus granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties.
