A 45-year-old woman, Adunni Komolafe, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing 70 crates of eggs.
Komolafe was said to have fraudulently obtained the crates of egg valued N113,000, from one Adewumi Obamuwe.
According to the charge sheet obtained by OSUN DEFENDER yesterday, Komolafe committed the offence in September,2021 at Atiba Estate, Osogbo.
The offence, according to the police prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode, contravened Section 419 and 383 and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.
But the accused person pleaded not guilty to the two counts charge of fraud and stealing pressed against her.
Defence counsel, Okobe Najite, prayed the court to admit the defendant to bail in the most liberal term, promising that she would stand her trial.
The presiding magistrate, Adekanmi Adeyeba, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N70,000 with a surety.
Magistrate Adeyeba said the surety must either be the accused person’s husband, children or biological siblings.
The case was adjourned till April 7, 2022.
