Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command attached to the Keffi Division have arrested a woman, Hauwa Sani, along with a two-year-old child, after intercepting them with a cache of dangerous weapons.
The arrest took place in Keffi, a town located 33 kilometers from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ramhan Nansel, revealed in a statement on Saturday that the police recovered 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition hidden in a gallon of palm oil from the suspect.
He said the operation was carried out on Friday when the operatives intercepted the suspect, a resident of Doro village, Katsina State.
According to the PPRO, a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect received the supply of ammunition at Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

He said the suspected criminal “concealed the items in a gallon of palm oil en route to Katsina State before nemesis caught up with her.”
The police spokesman noted that the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered the transfer of the suspect and exhibit to the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja, for further investigation.
