A 35-year-old woman, Ifeoluwa Ibiyemi, has been sentenced to one-month jail term by an Osogbo Magistrate Court for inflicting injuries on her neighbour in Ilobu, State of Osun.

The convict was said to have assaulted one Ojo Funke, her neighbour, by inflicting injury on her jaw and biting her left hand.

Ifeoluwa was convicted by the court after she pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of assault levelled against her.

She committed the offence on August 22, 2022 at about 0900 hours at Atura area in Ilobu.

The offence, according to the police, contravened Sections 351 and 355 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of the Federation, 2004

Telling the court the cause of their disagreement, the nominal complainant, Ojo Funke, said the convict has been consistently hurling abusive words on her and also accusing her of being a witch, a situation that resulted into physical combat between them.

In his ruling, the presiding Magistrate, Adekanmi Adeyeba, sentenced her to one-month jail term with an option of N4,500 fine.
