Woman In Court For Receiving Stolen Goods

A 42-year old Funmilayo James has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate Court presided over Mrs. Fatima Sodamade for receiving stolen property.

The charge sheet disclosed that the accused person and others at large received items such as: cosmetics, food stuff, red oil, can drinks, valued N250,000, property of one Ayuba Salamotu from Asimiyu Rashidii knowing that they are stolen items, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under section 427 laws of Osun State Nigeria, 2003.

The charge sheet further disclosed that the accused person did received another set of items including varieties of fabrics valued N170,000 property of one Kikelomo Badmus contrary to and punishable under section 427 Laws of Osun state.

The accused person committed the offence on November 1, 2017, at Niyi Ibikunle Shopping Complex, Dada Estate, Osogbo at about 11:30pm.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge leveled against him.

The defense counsel Lekan Olayiwola prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms, saying the suspect would not jump bail if granted.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyinbo Abiodun did not oppose the application bail.

Magistrate Fatima Sodamade admitted the accused person to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety.

She also adjourned the case till December 19, 2017 for mention.
