A 45-year-old man, Tajudeen Olaleye, has been ordered to be remanded at the correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged murder.
The order was given by an Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court presided over by Mrs Olubunmi Bamidele.
On Thursday, Police Prosecutor, Inspector Yomi Osuolale, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 10, in Otun-Ekiti.
The defendant was alleged to have murdered one Mrs Rasaki Taibat.
According to Osuolale, there was a fight between the defendant and someone in the neighbourhood, and the deceased tried to mediate between the two parties, in the process, the defendant stabbed her with a bottle, which led to her death.
The court was urged by the prosecutor to remand the defendant in the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The magistrate, Mrs Olubunmi Bamidele, ordered the remand of the defendant at the correctional centre, pending issuance f legal advice and adjourned the case till April 25, for mention.
