Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has assured his support for the new state Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps [NSCDC], Dr. Akintayo Adaralewa.
Adeleke said his government would provide the necessary support for the security agency in its fight against crimes in the state.
A statement by the Command Spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde, noted that the Governor gave the assurance on Tuesday while receiving the new NSCDC commandant who paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Abere, Osun State.
The statement said Adeleke while expressing confidence in the ability of the new Commandant and the Corps at large, enjoined the new NSCDC helmsman in the state to work in synergy with other sister agencies, saying crime prevention is a joint effort of all security agencies.
According to the statement, the state NSCDC Commandant, Dr Adaralewa earlier in his address, explained that the courtesy visit was mainly to familiarize himself with the governor and to seek the support of the government.
Adaralewa was said to have vowed to synergize with other security agencies to strengthen security architecture and place it in a better light.
He also promised to deal decisively with illegal miners, while promising to work assiduously in order to put an end to the incessant farmers and herders’ crisis in the state.
