‘Yahoo Boys’, Hoodlums Confront EFCC Operatives In Osogbo

Some suspected internet fraudsters, notoriously known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ and some hoodlums at the wee hour today attacked operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun.

Osun Defender gathered that the EFCC operatives had raided some of the residences of the ‘Yahoo Boys’ around Rinsayo, Adetunji Estate and other areas of Osogbo around 2am.

The EFCC operatives, according to sources, arrested about 25 of the suspected internet fraudsters, seized their phones and cars.

It was gathered that other ‘Yahoo Boys’ and hoodlums in their support, mobilised themselves and waylaid the convoy of the EFCC at Lameco roundabout area of Osogbo.

The ‘Yahoo Boys’ and hoodlums held the EFCC operatives hostage in spite of the several gunshots fired to scare them away, said sources.

They reportedly forced the EFCC to release the seized vehicles which were about 25.

The ‘Yahoo Boys’ and hoodlums set up bonfire at Dele Yes Sir and Lameco roundabouts, creating gridlock on the roads.

As at the time of filing this report, the ‘Yahoo Boys’ and hoodlums were still at the Lameco roundabout in their large numbers, forcing commuters to find alternative routes.
