Yoruba Group Condemns Attempt To Assassinate Aregbesola
The Coalition of Oodua Self-Determination Groups (COSEG) has condemned a social media call to stone or kill former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, over his political views.
In a statement by its chairman, Dayo Ogunlana, COSEG described the tweet by Ebirigbonka (@Ebiri) as “disgusting and laughable,” warning that no Yoruba leader should be disgraced for party differences.
The group praised Aregbesola’s role in uniting warring OPC factions, developing Osun State, and contributing to Yoruba progress. It stressed that political choices are personal and must be respected.
“We don’t joke with the safety and wellbeing of Yoruba leaders,” COSEG warned, urging peace, unity, and reconciliation between President Bola Tinubu and Aregbesola.
