The Parliamentarians of Olorunda North Local Council Development Area has said the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Hon Qadri Owonikoko is acting out of law for solely preparing, approving and executing the budget of the LCDA without informing the parliament.
The plairamentarians said Hon Qadri Owonikoko ran and expended the LCDA resources without the knowledge or approval of the parliament.
The parliamentarians stated this in a statement while reacting to Hon Owonikoko who alleged them of suspending him for not sharing them out of the funds released to them by the main council.
Speaking to newsmen in Osogbo on Friday, the lawmakers led by Hon Mumini Omidiran, Hon Sakirat Adeoye, deputy leader, Hon Ajisebiyawo Abiodun, Hon Olalekan Lawal, Hon Racheal Babatunde Titilope, Hon John Olawale and Hon Ismaila Olayinka said he is yet to hand over the administration of OLORUNDA NORTH LCDA to his Vice chairman.
According to the Leader of the parliamentarians, “How can you blame the parliament for debating the nauseating manner which the Executive Chairman turns OLORUNDA NORTH LCDA to one man business?”
“The fact contrary to falsehood peddled around by Hon. Owonikoko, there was never a time he directly or indirectly hands over the administration of OLORUNDA NORTH LCDA to his Vice chairman while he travelled out of the country for a month. He went away with the administration and come back with it. And his falsehood has been refuted by the Vice chairman, Hon. Abiodun Ajisebiyawo.”
The vice chairman, Hon. Abiodun Ajisebiyawo, said the LCDA is a creation of state law and it is a government on its own irrespective of what the politicians and the social media propagandists say.
He said the parliamentarians enjoy the exclusive rights to ensure good governance in the local government and LCDA.
His words “Our focus as parliamentarians is to ensure good governance of high standard in Olorunda North LCDA and to serve as model of rule of law and complimentary of good governance to the administration of our amiable Governor Gboyega Oyetola.”
The parliamentarians of Olorunda said the findings of an investigative panel setup by the council lawmakers on allegations of misconduct levelled against him coupled with issues of mis-governance on Owonikoko will justify the reasons for passing a vote of no confidence in him.
