The Youth Forum of the African Democratic Congress, Osun State chapter, has lampooned Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, over his reckless attack on the interim National Secretary of the party, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

The ADC youth forum, in a statement signed by Wahab Olanrewaju, said Rasheed lacks the moral authority, administrative experience, and intellectual depth to critique Aregbesola, adding that he (Olawale) has been a failure as the mouthpiece of the governor.

The youth described Rasheed as an ‘unserious’ fellow serving in an administration that has failed to live up to the expectations of the people.

“We are appalled by the reckless and disrespectful attack launched by Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke’s spokesman, against Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola a former governor whose record of impactful governance far outshines the present administration’s mediocrity.

“Let’s be clear: Rasheed lacks the moral authority, administrative experience, and intellectual depth to critique Aregbesola. His only credential is his loud loyalty to failure an appointment that reflects the quality of Adeleke’s leadership.

“This is a man who has never held elective office, implemented a policy, or built a single project. Worse still, he once falsely claimed he voted in Iwo despite not having a voter’s card exposing him as both unserious and untruthful,” the statement stated.

The statement highlighted “the model schools, Opon Imo tablets, and feeding programs” that transformed learning as some of the achievements of Aregbesola while in office.

The statement further noted the massive “Roads and urban projects still serving Osun today, OYES, a nationally adopted template as well as functional emergency services long before Adeleke ever held office.”

On borrowing money, the youth forum said, unlike Adeleke’s administration wasting money on substandard projects and fanfare, every loan during Aregbesola’s administration was tied to visible, lasting results.

“In contrast, Adeleke’s administration wastes resources on photo ops and fanfare, while Rasheed plays attack dog to mask their shortcomings.”

The statement added that, “Rasheed’s desperation is clear the people are watching, and history won’t be rewritten by press statements. Osun remembers who truly served them, and it’s not the man dancing through governance.

“Rasheed owes Aregbesola, and the good people of Osun, not just an apology but silence. We advise you to serve as a spokesperson with decorum, truth, and maturity, not desperation and insults.”

The statement concluded by challenging Rasheed to tell the Osun populace why the teachers’ recruitment is yet to be concluded two years after sacking teachers and collecting money from interested applicants.

The youth forum also challenged Rasheed to provide information on the dearth of workers in the health sector despite the promise to request after the administration he worked for sacked those employed by the past administration.
