The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Engagement of the State of Osun, Mrs. Mofolake Adegboyega has described the youth as the tools for technology and innovations.
Adegboyega, who was the special guest of honour at the flag off ceremony of Batch B OYESTECH Training in Ilesa said the scheme was a practical demonstration of her commitment towards addressing youth redundancy and unemployment in the state.
While speaking about how important it is for the youth to make use of the programme to become something in life, she lamented that youth needs to be more active in engaging themselves in multiple sources of income.
She added that the training had injected 5000 expert in different ICT fields, which has helped in reducing youth unemployment in the state and the country at large, charging the second batch to be focused and be self-determined on how they can make something out of nothing using the opportunity given to them by the state government.
“This batch will be given adequate, required resources and practical equipment for all departments to facilitate effective and efficient training by the state Government of Osun. This will also support and promote the development of millions of Micro, Small and Medium scale entrepreneur as investing in youth who are the greatest assets will actually determine the development trajectory of the state for the next 50 years”, she added.
The commissioner also stated that Osun has been blessed with very productive youths, meanwhile, the current administration is also ready to build the state through the youths as the white collar job is no more the solution but empowering the youth to be able to stand on their feet and make life meaningful for themselves and their environs.
Also at the event were, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji; Commissioner for Environment, Idowu Korede and the Representative of the Commissioner for Education; the Chairman RLG, Alhaji Animasahun; MD Omoluabi Holdings, Mr Tunde Faleye and the Commandante OYES, Col. Eniibukun Oyewole (rtd).
