Controversial Nigerian singer and ‘Zazu’ hit maker, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has tendered a public apology to his colleague, Davido, weeks after shading him on social media.
It would be recalled that the pair seemed to have fallen out during the Osun gubernatorial election in July as they both supported opposing parties, resulting in a clash of interests.
While Davido supported his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who ran and won on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Portable campaigned for Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Amid the drama, Portable revealed Davido unfollowed him on Instagram and threw a jab at the 30BG boss in return.
“Open your ears and listen. My father isn’t a rich man, I am not a son of a rich man, I am from the trenches. I am the one that brought riches to my family. Open your ears so my words can enter.
“I am running and hustling in this manner and it is simply because of money. And also to avert the suffering my family had to endure, which doesn’t become my portion. Once again, my father is not a rich man. I come from the trenches but managed to bring my family into wealth. So support who support you. They wasted no time unfollowing us.” he said.
However, during a recent ceremony, Portable, who was recently conferred a chieftaincy title by the Onitigbo of Tigbo, was made to apologise to Davido.
The monarch asked Portable to tender a public apology to Davido and he did as instructed.
