APC Condemns Brutal Murder Of Irewole LG Chairman, Calls For Justice
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of Honourable Remi Abass, the former Chairman of Irewole Local Government.
The party has called for swift justice, holding the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) responsible for the attack, which occurred in Ikire yesterday.
In a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi, the APC state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, described the killing as “inhuman, wicked, and callous.”
Expressing deep sorrow, he extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s family, political associates, and the people of Ikire, while assuring them that Abass’ death would not be in vain.
As a mark of respect, Lawal directed all council chairmen and councillors under the APC platform to stay away from their respective secretariats until further notice.

He praised the local government chairmen for their steadfastness in upholding the Court of Appeal judgment that reinstated them barely two weeks ago.
Lawal urged security agencies to launch a thorough investigation and apprehend not only those directly responsible for the killing but also their sponsors. “The killers did not descend from the moon. They must be arrested, prosecuted, and made to face the full wrath of the law,” he insisted.
The APC chairman also reassured party members that the leadership would take all necessary steps to ensure that Abass’ legacy and political struggles were not in vain. He called on the deceased’s colleagues and all party loyalists to remain committed to the APC’s collective aspirations.
“May Almighty Allah grant our beloved chairman eternal rest and forgive his shortcomings,” Lawal prayed.
