VIDEO: Prophet Who Challenged Sowore On Healing People With Stroke Begs For Peace
Port Harcourt-based prophet Umueke “Miracle” has withdrawn his challenge to activist Omoyele Sowore over his alleged ability to cure stroke, following his arrest for reportedly detaining his wife indoors for five days.
Authorities detained the prophet after reports surfaced that he had confined his wife, preventing her from leaving or making contact with others.
Following his release, he denied any wrongdoing, insisting that his marriage remains intact and that the situation was misinterpreted.
Umueke had previously invited Sowore to publicly test his supposed healing powers, a move that sparked widespread skepticism.
However, after his arrest, he not only abandoned the challenge but has also been making efforts to shift focus from both the controversy and his legal troubles.
In an attempt to clear the air, he issued an apology, saying, “I apologise to those who think I’ve offended them. Any contest—I’ve cancelled it. I want to focus on the work of God. I have so much respect for my elder brother,” he said referring to Sowore.
“I wasn’t challenging you. In age, in politics, in everything, you’re more than me. I cannot challenge you, let there be peace.”
His sudden retreat from the stroke cure challenge has further fueled doubts about his credibility.
The incident has also reignited conversations about the accountability of self-proclaimed miracle healers in Nigeria, especially those making bold medical claims.
