The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the August 15 gubernatorial election in Osun State, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, has promised that he would bring back the teachers and health workers sacked by the incumbent administration.

Oyebamiji made the promise during a meeting with the sacked teachers and health workers in Osogbo on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that former governor Adegboyega Oyetola recruited the teacher and health workers at the tail end of his tenure.

However, they employed teachers and health workers were asked to step aside by the present administration due to what it described as procedural error in civil service rules noticed when they were engaged.

The APC gubernatorial candidate in a Facebook post, said he would facilitate the payment of their salary arrears and settle outstanding promotion arrears.

He said, “Today, I had the privilege of meeting with over 1,500 teachers and 515 health workers whose lives and careers were abruptly disrupted following their unlawful disengagement in 2022 by the current administration in Osun State.

“Listening to their experiences was both emotional and deeply revealing. These are dedicated men and women who committed themselves to the service of our dear state, yet for nearly three years, they have lived without jobs, salaries, or the dignity that comes with stable public service employment.

“No government that truly cares for its people should abandon willing and qualified workers. A responsible administration must protect, encourage, and reward excellence, not punish it.

“I gave them my solemn assurance that under our administration, their concerns will be addressed with fairness, compassion, and sincerity. By the grace of God, we will ensure their return to work, facilitate the payment of their salary arrears, settle outstanding promotion arrears, and restore respect and dignity to the public service.

“Osun deserves leadership that puts humanity first. Osun deserves a government that values workers as critical partners in development. Together, we will restore hope, rebuild trust, and deliver a purposeful and people-centred governance.”
