Osun Accord Member Did Not Die From Political Attack – Family
The family of late Mrs. Taliatu Simbiat Taliatu, an Accord Party member from Gidigbo Ward 3, has debunked viral reports linking her death to political violence, stating that she died from shock and not at the hands of any political party or faction.
The family, in a statement signed by Kabirat Taleatu, urged politicians and their supporters to desist from politicizing the death of their mother.
“The news reports about Mrs. Taliatu Simbiat’s death are false. Mrs. Taliatu Simbiat was not killed by any political party or faction. She died from shock,” the statement read.
The family also appealed for calm and restraint from all political actors during their period of mourning.
“And our family were entreating both political parties and factions to refrain from criticising the death of our mother,” Kabirat stated.
While calling for an end to speculations, the family expressed appreciation to political leaders and party members who showed support and solidarity.

The family further acknowledged the condolence visit and concerns shown by Nigeria’s ruling party.
“Lastly, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the largest party in Africa, All Progressives Congress APC members, for their concerns and visit to our deceased mother. Thanks all,” Kabirat said.
