Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has fired a warning shot at the lawmaker representing Osun East, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, saying the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain will not win in 2027 without his backing.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that Senator Fadahunsi, who was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party in 2023, defected to the APC last year.
He defected alongside Osun Central Senator, Olubiyi Fadeyi and the House of Representatives members representing Ijesa North, Ijesa South and Ife Federal Constituency – Hon. Wole Oke, Hon. Sanya Omirin and Hon. Taofeek Ajilesoro, respectively.
Adeleke, who made the claim on Friday during an interview with a private television station in Osogbo, accused the senator of being double-standard.
“Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi won his election because of me. After I became the governor, I campaigned for him, and he won. Let him come and win now,” the governor said.
Adeleke alleged that Fadahunsi once blamed ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for Osun’s problems but changed his stance after joining the APC.
“He has two mouths. Immediately he won, he said Oyetola was the one who messed up Osun State because he was stealing Osun money and taking it to Lagos, and that is why he was kicked out. Now that he has joined the APC, he has changed his stance and started attacking me,” Adeleke alleged.
The governor also said President Bola Tinubu wanted him in the APC, but the plan was frustrated, allegedly by Oyetola.
“The President is the father of all. If he had called all of us, including Oyetola, to a roundtable and told him there that he wanted me to come to the APC and contest under the party, that would have sorted it, but that did not happen,” Adeleke said.
