Burna Boy’s Mum Urges Singer To Get Married, Have Children
Bose Ogulu, the mother and manager of Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, has urged her son to consider marriage and starting a family.
The advice came during the singer’s 35th birthday celebration on July 2, where close friends and family gathered to celebrate him.
In a video shared online by Burna Boy’s associate, Richie 7, the singer was making birthday wishes when his mother interrupted, encouraging him to add “a good wife and children” to his wishes.
While Burna Boy wished for “good health and prosperity,” Mrs Ogulu insisted he should also pray for a family of his own.
The singer had previously explained in an interview that he remains unmarried and childless because his demanding music career does not allow him the time and commitment required to raise children responsibly. He also maintained that he does not want to have children outside marriage or be an absent father.
Don’t Rush Into Marriage, It’s Not An Achievement — B-Lord
Celebrity businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as B-Lord, has advised Nigerians not to allow societal pressure push them into premature marriages.
Speaking on the Adult Gist podcast, B-Lord said individuals should only marry when they are emotionally and financially prepared.
According to him, marriage should never be seen as a life achievement but rather a lifelong commitment that requires careful consideration.
He also urged both men and women to treat their partners with respect, reminding them that the way they treat others could one day be reflected in how their own children are treated.
B-Lord warned that rushing into marriage often leads to divorce, especially when couples later discover they are incompatible.
Portable Says Money, Fame Have Affected Creativity Of Top Nigerian Artistes
Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that wealth and fame have negatively affected the creativity of some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars.
In a video shared online, the singer criticised Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Olamide, alleging that their songs now focus mainly on women and luxurious lifestyles rather than inspiring listeners.
Portable argued that many hit songs no longer contain motivational messages or meaningful lyrics capable of impacting society positively.
He urged his colleagues to produce more conscious and gospel-inspired music, insisting that money should not replace purpose in music.
Nadia Buari Warns Fans About WhatsApp Impersonators
Ghanaian-Nigerian actress Nadia Buari has alerted her followers to the growing activities of online impersonators following WhatsApp’s introduction of its username feature.
The actress disclosed that every variation of her name she attempted to register had already been taken, describing the experience as disturbing.
According to her, usernames such as “Nadia Buari,” “Nadia S Buari,” “NSB” and even “theNadiaBuari” were unavailable.
She warned that fraudsters are increasingly exploiting new digital features to impersonate public figures and deceive unsuspecting users.
Buari advised fans to remain vigilant against online scams and identity theft.
Money Ritual, Witchcraft Stories Unrealistic — Sunny Alli
Veteran Nollywood actor, director and producer Sunny Alli has questioned the realism of money ritual and witchcraft-themed movies commonly portrayed in Nollywood.
Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo on YouTube, the filmmaker said he deliberately avoids writing stories involving supernatural claims that cannot be verified.
According to him, no one has provided credible evidence about witch meetings or money rituals, making such storylines unrealistic in his view.
He also challenged the logic behind claims that demons provide wealth through rituals, questioning where such money would realistically come from.
The filmmaker maintained that he prefers scripts centred on real-life experiences that audiences can easily relate to.
Alli further disclosed that although he once engaged in football betting, he has since stopped, saying he no longer believes it is the right path.
Leo DaSilva Recommends Video Wills To Prevent Family Disputes
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Leo DaSilva has advised Nigerians to prepare video wills alongside written ones to reduce conflicts after death.
In a post on X, DaSilva argued that biological relationships do not always translate into genuine love or loyalty, as some relatives only appear when it is time to inherit assets.
He said recording clear video instructions on the distribution of one’s property could help eliminate misunderstandings and discourage unnecessary legal battles.
According to him, video wills can ensure that a person’s final wishes are clearly understood while preventing people from confusing blood relatives with genuine loved ones
