- Ask FG To Call Osun APC Leadership To Order
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party has knocked the opposition All Progressives Congress over claimed that the state government attempted to bribe some officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria to curry favour on the ongoing Local Government crisis in Osun State.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that the APC made the allegation in a statement yesterday by its Director of media and information, Kola Olabisi.
The APC statement was in response to a letter from the CBN to the reinstated chairmen, asking them to provide the Cerified True Copy of the judgment of the Appeal Court which reportedly returned them as chairmen.
The APC however, said the leadership of the apex bank rejected the advances from the state government.

But reacting on Wednesday, the PDP through its director of media, Oladele Bamiji, described the allegation as a mere symptom of crass idiocy by the APC.
Oyebamiji in a statement made available to newsmen, instead of alleging the PDP of bribery, APC should get a mirror and see that they are the real thieves.
The PDP alleged the APC of attempt to hoodwink the apex bank with judicial half truths, adding that their plan later fell flat on their faces.
The statement further read, “The question to ask is why would APC go to the CBN without the CTC of a judgement they claimed was in their favour? Or, why should the PDP be blamed for the APC’s deliberate refusal to attach what they claimed was in their possession as legal backing for their request from the CBN, if truly they were confident such was good and genuine?
“We hold that approaching the CBN with distorted judicial particulars was in itself, a crafty move to fraudulently mislead the apex bank for the Yes or No wanderers to steal funds meant for local governments in Osun State.
“But for the vigilance of its legal department, the CBN would have been in a mess of throwing the country into another avoidable constitutional crisis, which the APC doesn’t seem to care about, in so far its illegal usurpation thirst is satisfied.
“While we expect the APC led federal government to call its babies of insatiable greed to order in their quest to destroy almost all institutions of government in order to stamp their impossible efforts in Osun, we equally alert other government agencies to remain vigilant like the CBN, not to allow some imbecile agitators to set the country ablaze, as such desperate but careless moves, could ignite insumountable crisis for the entire country.
“Careless utterances like allegations of bribery against a sensitive institution like the CBN, to us in the PDP, was not only reckless but utterly stupid on the part of the APC. The CBN like many other institutions of government, is a creation of the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria and cannot suddenly become an errand boy or a pawn in the illegal quests of an inconsequential entity like the defeated Osun APC.
“These institutions, if APC cares to know, are bound to outlive any government, either national or the federating states. It is therefore delusional for the obviously confused opposition to try and enlist these agencies in their tasteless coup being planned against the will of the good people of Osun State, who out of their freewill, confidence and rejection of the APC, enthroned the PDP administration of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke through a free and fair electoral process.
