China Dismisses Claim Of Captured Soldiers In Ukraine As Political Hype

China on Tuesday dismissed Ukraine’s claim that two of its nationals were captured fighting alongside Russian forces, describing the reports as “manipulation and hype.”
This follows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s accusation that Moscow is dragging Beijing into its war effort.
“China is verifying the relevant information and circumstances,” said foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian when asked about the alleged Chinese prisoners of war.
He urged “relevant parties to accurately understand China’s objective and impartial stance, and to refrain air jordan 1 low og florida gators pe from political manipulation and hype.”
On Monday, Ukraine held Melania Trump's Hands on Donald's Trip Make a Subtle Style Statement a press conference where two captured Chinese nationals—shown under armed guard—spoke to journalists.
They said they hoped to be part of a prisoner swap and warned other Chinese citizens against joining the fight.
Zelensky had earlier stated on Friday that several hundred Chinese nationals were currently fighting on the front line alongside Russia.
But Beijing insisted on Tuesday that it has “repeatedly issued safety advisories, urging Chinese citizens to stay away from areas of armed conflict and to avoid becoming involved in conflict in any form.”
“With regard to the individual actions and consular cases involving Chinese citizens overseas, China handles them in accordance with the law,” Lin added.
While China presents itself as a neutral party in the Ukraine conflict and maintains it is not supplying lethal assistance to either side—unlike the United States and other Western nations—it remains a close political and economic ally of Moscow.
NATO member states have labelled China a “decisive enabler” of the war, which Beijing has never officially condemned.
