Court Sentences BRT Driver To Death By Hanging For Bamise’s Murder
A Lagos State High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Friday sentenced Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) driver, Andrew Nice Ominikoron, to death by hanging for the murder of 22-year-old Ayanwola Oluwabamise.
Justice Sherifat Sonaike delivered the judgement after finding Ominikoron guilty of multiple offences, including the sexual assault of Dr. Anosike Victoria.
Ominikoron was tried on a five-count charge comprising murdered, conspiracy, and rape, relating to Bamise’s death, the assault of Dr. Victoria, and the rape of one Maryland Ojiezelu.
He had pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
