An Ikeja High Court on Tuesday struck out the N1 billion defamation suit filed by human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, rapper Folarin Falana (Falz), against social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

The suit was instituted over comments made by VDM concerning an audio recording involving convicted cross-dresser Bobrisky, in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed he was not fully imprisoned.

VDM reportedly accused Falana and his son of perverting justice.

Both father and son demanded N500 million each as damages for a video shared nike ja 1 scratch by VDM on social media.

During Tuesday’s hearing, none of the parties were present in court.

VDM’s counsel, Mr Niyi Alagbe, who stood in for Mr Marvin Omorogbe, informed the court that an application for stay of proceedings had been filed before Justice Fimisola Azeez.

Counsel for the Falanas, Mr Omotayo Olatunbosun, countered, stating that he received the application late Monday, around 4:15 p.m., and argued that the court should go ahead with the preliminary objection listed for the day.

Justice Matthias Dawodu, however, struck out the suit, noting that the substantive matter was already before another judge.

He said, “Consequently, this suit is hereby struck out,” adding that hearing the matter would amount nike jordan flight 45 burgundy blue suit for women to an academic exercise.
