Dele Momodu Accuses Tinubu Of Running Nigeria With Wike As Co-President
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has slammed President Bola Tinubu for allegedly dismissing Nigerians’ concerns about the rising influence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing the situation as if the country is being ruled by two presidents.
Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday, Momodu criticised Tinubu’s reported remarks labelling Nigerians as “busybodies” and “bystanders” for questioning Wike’s role in the current administration.
Momodu said, “President Tinubu calling Nigerians busybodies and bystanders because of one man called Wike — who is a bystander in his own country — is deeply insulting.”
He pointed out that despite Tinubu’s long-standing political dominance in Lagos since 1999, he has never exhibited the level of audacity that Wike now displays in the FCT.
“Even the president, the incumbent president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has held Lagos since 1999 to date has not been as audacious as Wike. In fact, right now, it’s looking like we have two presidents in Nigeria. Wike can do anything,” he said.
“Yesterday, I listened to the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the commander in chief, calling fellow Nigerians busy bodies. You interpreted it as naysayers.
“Naysayers is still far better than busy bodies. Nigerians, we are calling Nigerians busy bodies. Bystandards. Who is a bystander in his own country?
“Because of one man, Wike. And, of course, if you are in Wike’s shoes, you will dance more than he danced yesterday,” Momodu added.
