Former Labour Party Spokesman, Kenneth Okonkwo Quits Party

A former spokesperson of the Presidential Campaign Council of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo, has resigned from the party.
Okonkwo ascribed his exit from the party to lack of leadership stability and structure in the Labour party.
He made the announcement of his resignation in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He condemned the failure of the party to hold congresses, saying that the ward, local government, and state executives had exhausted their three years in office without fresh elections.
Okonkwo also accused the Julius Abure-led National Working Committee of being illegitimate since it was not recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
His resignation adds another nail to the coffin of Labour Party, which has been battling internal wrangling and court cases since the 2023 elections.
