INEC Alerts Nigerians Over Fake 2026 Recruitment Website
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians about a fraudulent recruitment link circulating online, clarifying that it is neither authorised nor associated with the Commission.
In a notice posted on its official X account on Saturday, INEC stated, “The website currently circulating as ‘INEC Ad-hoc Staff Recruitment 2026’ is fake, misleading, and not authorised by the Commission.”
The Commission emphasised that it did not approve or originate the link being shared, specifically pointing out, “The Commission did not approve or originate the following link: 🔗 https://tinyurl.com/INEC-Ad-hoc-Staff-Recruitment.”
INEC cautioned the public against submitting personal information on the platform, noting, “Members of the public are strongly advised not to submit personal information on the said website.”
Reaffirming its official communication procedures, the electoral body stressed that all legitimate recruitment exercises are announced only through verified channels.
“All official recruitment information will be communicated exclusively through INEC’s verified website and official communication channels,” the notice added.
The Commission urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and ignore the fake link. For verification or enquiries, citizens were directed to contact INEC via 09050858629, 09050858675, or 09050858649.
The warning comes amid rising online scams targeting job seekers, especially as preparations for future elections intensify.
INEC reiterated that recruitment is conducted solely through its official platform, INECPRES, and advised Nigerians to confirm information before responding to recruitment calls.
