Our correspondent gathered that students, particularly those in the Awolowo Hall of Residence, marked the day with songs, dances, and various celebratory activities, undeterred by the academic pressure.

Another student, who preferred to remain anonymous, noted that, โI took a few hours off from studying to enjoy myself and celebrate with my hall mates. Itโs not every day we get to mark Valentineโs Day. You know what they sayโโall work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.โ We deserve some enjoyment, man.โ
Similarly, a female student, seen carrying gifts from her boyfriend, expressed her joy, saying, โCelebrating Valentineโs today is no crime. In fact, itโs a joyful day for me. My boyfriend surprised me with lots of gifts, and I feel special. Who says I shouldnโt celebrate Valentineโs just because of exams? I prioritise my happiness abeg!โ
While some students basked in the spirit of love, others remained focused on their studies, underscoring the balance between academics and social life at the university.
