Osun LG Election: Voters Disenfranchised As OSSIEC Officials Fail To Show Up In Ede North

Election is not holding in polling units in Ede North local government area of Osun State in the ongoing local government election.
It was gathered that the development is due to the failure of officials of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) to show up for the election.
OSUN DEFENDER reporters who are monitoring the situation reports that voting is not ongoing in most polling stations in Ede North.
As at 8:30am at Ward 5 unit 5 Alusekere, Owode Ede, there was no voting material available at the unit. The only electoral officer present told OSUN DEFENDER that she was initally scared to come out because of security threats.
At Ward 5 unit 4 Owode Ede, there was no electoral officer on ground as at the time the medium visited. It was also observed that those on ground were majorly PDP Members.
It was also gathered that voting had been allegedly concluded at some polling units in Ede before 9am.
OSUN DEFENDER also visited Ward 4, Unit 17, Cele Junction in Ede North. As at 9:15 am, there is no election holding at the polling unit.
Some voters who spoke to the medium lamented the development, also accused OSSIEC of disenfranchising them.
