A controversial member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba, on Tuesday, presented his letter of appointment as the Caretaker Chairman of the FCT Branch of the union to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, in Abuja.

Oyewale, a staunch loyalist of the Minister, was appointed on Monday by NURTW National President, Musilu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), was formerly the Chairman of the Oju-Irin branch of the union in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

During his tenure, Asiri-Eniba, as he is popularly called, was alleged of harassment, intimidation, highhandedness and midwifing physical assault of persons believed to be antagonists of the former governor of Osun.

Sources at the meeting told OSUN DEFENDER that Oyewale visited the Minister to thank him for reportedly assisting in facilitating the appointment.

The source hinted that many members of the NURTW FCT Branch had questioned the appointment of an Osun indigene as Caretaker Chair of the union.

OSUN DEFENDER had on Monday reported Oyewale’s appointment where Akinsanya charged him to prioritise the welfare of his members and always defend their unity.

In his acceptance speech, Oyewale, popularly known as Asiri Eniba, thanked the leadership of the NURTW for the trust they have reposed in him.

He promised not to let them down, as he will bring to bear the experience he used in piloting the affairs of the union in Osun State.
