Release Our Children – Oyo NUT Protests Over Kidnap Of Students, Teachers
The National Union of Teachers, NUT, in Oyo State have staged a peaceful protest in Ibadan, following the recent abduction of students and teachers from schools in Oriire local government.
Kidnappers had on May 15, invaded Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, abducting over 40 students and teachers.
The daredevil terrorists have been releasing disturbing footage of how their victims are being punished in the forest.
After nearly three weeks in captivity, primary and secondary school teachers in the state stormed the streets to demand urgent action from relevant authorities.
The protesters, who converged in Iwo Road, Ibadan, were heard chanting solidarity songs and demanding their colleagues and the school children, “bring back our children, no more bandits” amongst others.
