The Omoluabi Progressives, a political caucus loyal to former Osun State Governor and immediate past Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, have criticised President Bola Tinubu for allegedly neglecting the lingering crisis within the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group accused Tinubu of intervening in the political disputes of Bayelsa, Rivers, and Ondo States while deliberately ignoring the internal conflict that have plagued Osun APC for years.

Chairman of the tendency, Alhaji Azeez Adesiji, stated this while speaking on Osun Defender’s weekly Twitter (X) Space on Friday.

Adesiji, who spoke through the Organising and Publicity Secretary of the Omoluabi Progressives lamented that while Osun APC remains deeply divided, no effort has been made by the national leadership to address the crisis.

He argued that Aregbesola, despite being instrumental in building the party’s political structure in the state, has been sidelined and falsely labelled as ‘inconsequential.’

His words, “Aregbesola’s administration left behind a solid APC structure in Osun, including the governorship, two senators, six House of Representatives members, and 23 out of 26 state assembly seats.

“However, under the leadership of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and Gboyega Famodun, the party lost all these political gains.”

The Omoluabi Progressives insisted that APC is being run like an “empire”,  where dissenting voices are silenced, adding that its decision to leave the party is a necessity aimed at repositioning Osun and Nigeria for better governance.
