1. Wole Oke Blasts Osun Govt For Believing Party Invaders Over Him

The lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon Wole Oke has slammed the Osun State Government for believing party invaders over him.

Oke, who was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party, said those who don’t know how they started the process of nurturing the party have been spewing all sorts of stories about him, adding that it was painful that the state government believed them.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that the relationship between the lawmaker and the governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke, is not as cordial as before, with sources saying that the governor has concluded plans to give the ticket of the constituency to an Abuja-based lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi.

Oke, in a 3-minute video, argued that he stayed behind in the party even when some people who have become governors and senators under the PDP left.

2. Audit Report Uncovers Over 500 Ghost Workers In Osun

A staff audit conducted on behalf of the Osun State Government in 2023 has raised concerns over the presence of alleged ghost workers on the state’s payroll.

The audit, carried out by a consultant between July and August 2023, involved physical verification, biometric data capture, and the presentation of credentials by all civil servants and pensioners under the state government.

The audit stated that over 500 civil servants were ghost workers in the state civil service.

3. Boundary Disputes: Adeleke, Makinde Sue For Peace, Direct Deputies To Engage Warring Parties

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and his counterpart in Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde have waded into the incessant border clashes between Iwo and Lagelu local governments.

The governors ordered their deputies to visit the areas involved in the dispute with the aim of finding a resolution.

4. Three Remanded For Vandalising Osun Water Corporation’s Pipes

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ede, Osun State, has reportedly remanded three persons for allegedly vandalising water pipes belonging to the state Water Corporation.

The defendants, who were arraigned on Monday, April 14, pleaded not guilty to the charge against them and were subsequently remanded in Ife Correctional Centre.

The defendants, Michael Odeniran (43), Ganiyu Mutiu Olalekan (32), and Muritala Ridwan (32), were arrested and prosecuted by the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
