The Osun State House of Assembly has revealed that it has passed 27 bills since June 2023.

The Assembly also said the bills it passed are instrumental in addressing pressing issues, enhancing governance and improving the quality of life for residents of the state.

The Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, made this known in a statement he personally signed, made available to journalists in Osogbo.

He praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for his commitment to the welfare of Osun citizens, noting that his proactive approach to governance have created a fertile ground for collaboration.

Egbedun who assured that the Assembly remained committed to making impactful legislation that resonates with the needs of the people, praised legislators and staff of the Assembly for playing a vital role in ensuring that the legislative processes run smoothly and effectively.

He urged the lawmakers to remain steadfast in their commitments and continually listen to the voices of their constituents and approach their responsibilities with renewed vigour and determination.

4. Osun Govt, APC Chair Clash Over Alleged Looting Of LG Secretariats

The Osun State Government has warned that local government chairmen elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, who claim possession of all local government secretariats in the state, will be held accountable for any missing items from the council offices.

The warning was issued by the State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, during a radio programme on Saturday.

Alimi accused the APC chairmen, who reportedly occupy the local government secretariats, of removing government property and stressed that the government would compel them to account for every missing item.

In response to the looting allegations, the Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Osun APC faction, Samuel Abiodun, denied the claims when contacted by The Guardian.

Abiodun questioned what there is to loot in the secretariats, stating, “Is it furniture or money? There is nothing to loot there, and none of us has looted anything.”
