There appears to be trouble within the All Progressives Congress in Modakeke as two factional APC local government chairmen presented separate proposed 2026 budgets for the Ife East Area Office, Modakeke.

The development, OSUN DEFENDER gathered, has caused confusion within members of the party and residents of the town, with each faction and their supporters laying claim to legality.

According to a report by Inside Modakeke, Hon. Tunde Lawal, on Wednesday, presented a ₦4.81 billion proposed budget tagged “Budget of Liberation and Total Transformation” to the Legislative Arm of the council led by Hon. Adepoju Abidemi Oluseyi.

The report noted that Lawal, during the presentation, said his administration budget would look into road construction, school and hospital upgrades, and other developmental initiatives across Modakeke and its environs.

It was gathered that party leaders were present during the budget presentation.

But barely hours later, another faction led by Adekunle Adewumi, who was said to be the Acting Chairman of the council, also presented a ₦3.9 billion proposed budget for 2026.

The budget, titled ‘Fulfilled Renewed Hope’, according to Adewumi, aims to drive sustainable development, enhance service delivery, and address socio-economic needs in the area.

Adewumi, who also presented the budget at the Council Secretariat in Oke D.O. Modakeke on Wednesday, highlighted key focus areas, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and administrative reforms.

His own budget was presented to the legislative council led by Hon. Adekunle Adeyeye.

According to Adewumi, the budget aligns with the Renewed Hope vision of inclusive governance, fiscal responsibility, and grassroots transformation.

Adewumi noted that priority areas include infrastructure development, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and improved administrative efficiency.

The factional budget presentation also had in attendance leaders and members of the APC in the area.
