UNIOSUN Invasion: Osun Govt Keeps Mum Five Days After
The Osun State Government is yet to release any official statement following an alleged overnight invasion of student hostels at Osun State University (UNIOSUN) on Monday.
Recall that soldiers, believed to be passed-out military recruits, allegedly stormed about 16 off-campus hostels in the Oke Baale area, where they reportedly assaulted students, seized valuables, destroyed property and sexually harassed female residents.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that five days after the incident, the Adeleke’s government is yet to make a release condemning the act or pay an official visit to the school.
The medium noted that Adeleke had hours after the ugly incident, paid a condolence visit to the residence of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, over the death of his mother.
The invasion of the students’ hostels has received widespread condemnation from Civil Society Organisations and residents of the state, while calling for a full-scale investigation.
