Social media critic Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has accused on-air personality Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu Wazobia, of fraud.

VDM alleged that during his previous online feud with Nedu, after the OAP hosted comedian Deeone on The Honest Bunch podcast—where Deeone claimed VDM was gay—Nedu fell ill and was hospitalised.

He claimed that despite pleas from several people to let the issue slide, he could not ignore it because he detests fraud.

“I wanted to let the issues with Nedu slide, but I could not because I hate fraud,” VDM said.

According to VDM, Nedu got involved with a UK-based man who offers scholarships through the Metropolitan School of Business and Management.

The OAP agreed to be the face of the programme to help Nigerian youths secure scholarships.

However, when asked for a budget, Nedu allegedly proposed an N85 million fundraising gala.

He said when the celebrities and other people enter the hall, an account number will be displayed, and funds will be raised for the charity.

VDM further claimed that Nedu made several demands, “To make the event very big, Nedu allegedly said he would use 10 influencers and each will take N500k. Also, he will spend N3.5m for digital marketing, and 20 billboards for N350k each.

“For video production, he wrote N2m, media coverage N96k each for 11 media houses, plus other expenses including food and drinks which amounted to N85m,” VDM stated.

He alleged that Nedu requested an upfront payment of N60 million and initially received N40 million, followed by N9.8 million, and then N10.2 million.

However, when it was time to promote the event, Nedu reportedly did not use media houses but instead involved celebrities.

“When it was time to promote the event, Nedu Wazobia did not use the media houses, instead, he asked singers Inetimi Odon aka Timaya, and Kingsley Okonkwo, aka KCee, and politician Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour to endorse his scholarship programme.”

During the event, Nedu allegedly displayed his own account details instead of the UK school’s account details.

When asked to provide evidence of media promotions and billboard adverts, he reportedly became evasive.

VDM said, “At this point, they suspected that Nedu had defrauded them.”

He vowed to take legal action, stating, “I will write a petition against the on-air personality and he would learn the hard way.”
