2026: Salam Chides Wole Oke Over Adeleke Withdrawal Claim
The lawmaker representing Ede North/ Ede South/ Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bamidele Salam, has chided the Director General of the Osun All Progressives Congress Gubernatorial Campaign Committee, Hon. Wole Oke, over an allegation that pressure was on Governor Ademola Adeleke to quit the 2026 race.
Oke, who is representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, had, in a Facebook post, claimed that the APC unit canvassers’ inauguration in Ilesa turned into a “walk to live”.
He also claimed that an aide of Governor Adeleke told him that “Oga can not sleep again.”
“APC Units Canvassers inauguration ceremony turned to walk to live in Ilesa. One of HE Gov Adeleke’s aides confided in me that Oga can not sleep again. Gov Adeleke is reportedly under pressure to renounce or withdraw from 2026 Gubernatorial Contest. He doesn’t want AMBO to disgrace him out of office,” Oke wrote.
Responding on Facebook, Salam dismissed the claim: “Ẹ̀gbọ́n, your posting at times looks just too ridiculous for your status.”
Another chieftain of the Accord Party in Osun, Apesin Adegoke, faulted Oke’s post, stating: “I can’t believe you posted this, but then again, why should I be surprised? Aren’t you a member of the rejected APC in Osun State? Politically, things are no longer as easy for you as they used to be, my brother. Very sad.”
The exchange has sparked reactions online as political tension builds ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State.
